Me and my 2 friends Scully and Manda hit up Haulover beach for the first time this past Saturday. After litterly years of talk with various friends and girlfriends i finally got the chance to actually go! After a bit of confusion on where to park, we got to the beach around 10am. We strolled onto the beach and it seemed like there was already a fair amount of people there already. The north part of the beach seemed like more of a social and party atmosphere so we moved further south where it seemed more quite and relaxed. (we didn't want to jump into a super social mode right away) We set up our blankets and towels and sat down and made ourselves a bite to eat. Before actually chowing down i got down to just my boxer briefs and after eatting we all decided to let it all out. The moment we were naked it felt strange but good in a wacky sense. I noticed that there were so many other people walking around completely naked (there was a good percentage of males over females but still a fair amount of females) i felt more comfortable because i realized that no one there cared. We were just another group of visitors to this beautiful beach. There was a huge mix of people from tall, short, fat, skinny, young, old, gay, straight, black, white and anything inbetween. We layed out to tan (making sure to put on suntan lotion, especially those places that don't see the sun so often, haha) and after about an hour or so we got up the confidence to walk around. We felt it was safe enough to leave our clothes and stuff behind on it's own. So we were walking around and a few people stopped to say hello (since right off they could tell we were newbies) and comment on our tattoo's (we're 20 somethings with the fondness for decorating our bodies, there weren't many sooper pale tattooed people out there so we kinda stuck out, haha) Everyone was very friendly and it didn't feel strange at all walking around amoung total strangers completely nude. We walked past families, singles and couples. Walked along the waters edge and got used to the temperature, decided to jump in and enjoy it. The one thing that wasn't so great about the water was the large amounts of sea kelp which made it kind of a pain to swim around. After about 30/45 mins of dipping in the water we got up and went back to our stuff which was still there, safe and untouched. The surrounding people that were there before we left greeted us back and even offered to take photos of us with our camera since we were trying to take pictures of ourselves (make sure if you're taking pictures that it's just of yourself and no one else, and if anyone is close by try to let them know you're just taking pictures of yourself) We layed out and ate some more for a bit. For the most part everybody we met were very laid back and cool. At one point a flamboyant older man came over and started up a conversation, but became a little too personal when he started rubbing lotion on Manda without really asking first. You could tell he was just trying to be friendly and welcome us newcomers, but just be wary and feel free to let somebody know if they're crossing over your comfort zone. After about another few minutes we took a few more pictures to remember our first (a definately not last) Haulover clothing optional beach experience. We were so disappointed that we had to leave that we didn't even get dressed right away. We walked the whole stretch of the beach to the very end and got dressed. Over all, we had a friggin' BLAST! We're definately goin' back...as soon as our sunburns heal...ouch...
