As we sit on the floor in a circle waiting for the mountain of rice and flatbread I look at the dirty hands that will soon be digging in to the rice I'm about to eat

As we enter the small Afghan village the women in their black burkas seem to resemble eerie shadow figures against the village walls. Smells are everywhere from animal manure and burning trash to the warming smell of a woman baking flat bread.
