Now that my dad is gone, there's really no reason for my mom to stay back in NY by herself. But I keep wondering if Seattle is the right place for us to be. It's still a little bit on the expensive side. The advantages are that I have a job (in such an unsteady market, that's is high up on the priority scale, right?), and my little one can see her dad (even if the man only wants to see her sporadically).

Some thoughts include moving to North Carolina... Raleigh is like # 2 or 3 of best places to live.
