So, it's 5:30 am and I'm still a bit jet lagged, so I figured this would be a perfect time for some SG HOMEWORK assigned by @Missy and @Rambo to write about our pets! Animals are something that I'm adamant about, and in particular: my dog Sioux:
Let me tell you the story of my boy Sioux (named after Siouxsie Sioux of course. Yes, he's a boy named Sioux as well). When I was 16 I finally was making money at my bike shop job to check out a closing down pet store near my job. I am always a huge animal fan (I wanted to be a zoologist since I was 4) and was hoping to meet a dog to take home. This is something I fantasized about for as long as I could remember and I felt like I was finally responsible enough for a pup. I actually fell for Sioux's brother first; he was playful and loud; everything Sioux was not, but when I took them both out, I realized the disgruntled and nervous little Sioux was the boy for me.

Since then, almost 9 years ago, Sioux has surpassed just being my pet, he's truly my best friend.

He is my first dog and we grew up together, so we are really in tune. Over the years, me and Sioux have gone on a ton of adventures, hikes, drives, met people, and learned a lot, but it wasn't ways so easy to get him to enjoy these sort of things! He is lazy by nature!

(Fun Fact: I used to ride my bike around Venice Beach with Sioux in my backpack, and people would honk and wave everywhere we went! On foot, people would always ask if I was the girl with dog riding around town!)
It's crazy to watch him develop into the tough little guy he's become, he started off such a scaredy cat, always looking to me for help in situations most dogs would thrive, but over the years he has overcome many of his fears and really inspires me every single day.
Then I realized, he was being inspired by me as well and as I would grow as a person and overcome obstacles, he would be I tune to this! It is truly amazing!

(He used to be scared of bugs!)
He used to refuse to go outside in Cold weather (okay he still does that..I do too!)
Sioux hasn't only touched my life, it seems like everyone who's met him can't get enough of him (his cuddling abilities are amazing) and whenever anyone comes by my place or even meet him on the street, Sioux is sure to show them a lot of love. Honestly everyone says they've never met a dog like him.
A matter of fact, if you go to #dogsiouxsie on instagram, you'll come across dozens of pictures of my little guy, being the handsome dude he is with a ton of different people from everywhere!

I'm so grateful for this little guy, he's much more than a dog, he's a wonderful being that touches the lives of many with his loving personality and dashing good looks. I am a firm believer that animal friendships are some of the strongest bonds anyone can have, and I feel like the relationship Sioux and I have is a great example. Here's to my best buddy and to many more years of running a muck around the world together ❤️
