My grandma just died 
. My mom sent me a message in the middle of the night to let me know.
She's been in a home the last couple of months, and had been doing poorly recently. Not wanting to eat, drink. Ultimately she passed away. She was my last remaining grandparent.
Untill she moved to a nursing home several months ago, my grandma lived just down the street from my parents, and I'd pass her house every day on my way to work. And every morning, she'd be looking out of the window at the front of the house, to wave at me when I passed her. If I didn't wave back (if I didn't see her for example), I'd be in so much trouble the next day
. My mom's side of the family (including this grandma) has always been pretty close.
Rest in peace, grandma.

I just got back from my parents', I stopped by after work (I couldn't sooner, due to a deadline at work). Grandma died in her sleep around 12:30 am, and apparently looked very peaceful. She didn't suffer.
The funeral will be held on Monday. I have to find something red to wear, that was her favourite colour.

all we can do is commemorate them with great memories and traditions that were important to them, and remember them fondly for the great times you spent with them....that's what i do, and it seems to work out
