I never realised until very recently just how great this site really is. It is both public and private, introvert and exhibitionist, intensive and extensive. A complete community.
For me, the greatest thing of all is to meet like-minded people and I find writing in my journal space as cathartic as I would writing in my own, personal diary.
Yet many of us have never met and never will meet those whom we correspond with so closely. And even when we do, can we really say with conviction that the people we are on this site and the people we are in "real life", face to face, are the same?
Who are we in this place? Just like we need dreams to balm the hurts of our troubled minds, is this place we retreat to for our healing?
Or am I taking this too far?
What does this site mean to you? Can you ever truly *know* someone just through written correspondence? or are the relationships we forge with people here mainly with ourselves? [if that makes sense!]
