The Sopranos was good tonight!!! Watching Big Love next!!! All I need now is for the The Wire to come back on.
***Update*** - Well my knee is OK, at least that's what the doc said, nothing more that some inflammation around the kneecap caused by excessive and repetitive movements. The discomfort was caused by a small fluid accumalation in my knee, it can be treated with ibuprofen and cold/hot treatments...phew!!!...had a brotha scared for sec!
I finally got Photoshop on my machine...SWEEEEEEEET!!!! I can finally work on some of MY artwork (at least in my mind it's art!!!) and get it matted and framed for my house and possibly others (one of my photography goals). I think I have some great images that could turn into great things. I've been thinking about submitting some images to National Geographic's amatuer contest (or something like that)...I forgot what the most recent category is but I think whatever it is I can either come up with or already have somewhere...If some of my work was ever selected that would be one of the highlights of my life! Keep hope alive!!!
My son is growing like a weed, mentally and physically. Guess what his favorite word is (other than NO)...you guessed it "shit". I know that's a testament to bad parenting but honestly 1) I know for a fact we aren't bad parents and 2) we rarely use foul language around the child...wellllll except for the one time!!! And damn that one time...or two times!!! It started with my wife though, I think she dropped something and said "shit" while in his presence and he took to it like a fish to water. Here's how I know babies and infants are smarter than you think. MY son, with his newly discovered vocabulary gem decided to unveil it in front of our semi-new neighbor. As my wife, my son, and our neighbor were approaching to go into our house, walking up the steps to the front door, my son stumbles and falls and then loudly says "shit", plain as day!!! After the slight embarrassment my wife corrects him and then begins to explain to our neighbor how this whole thing came about, although it was a serious incident, it was funny nonetheless. Fast forward about a month, I'm feeding him while he's in his highchair and as I reach to give him his plate it falls out of my hand and on to the floor and I yell "shit". Why oh why did I do that!!! I just reinforced what he already learned from his mother, damn damn damn!!! Now we have a "shit" monster on our hands...he just blurts it out whenever he feels like it or whenever it suits the occasion, whatever the case may be it's a problem. We've tried to be stern with him when he would say it but it hasn't worked, we've tried to ignore him as well but that hasn't worked either. What to do, what to do?!?!? Well, we've learned a couple things from this little stage in child development...1) watch your mouth around children of ANY age, they're like sponges, they watch and hear everything you do and say...and 2) it's funny to hear little kids curse! Man it is pure comedy, especially when it's in context. I swear my son has perfect comedic timing, he gets it from me! So here's some advice for you expecting parents
or those who are planning to have kids...be prepared for the unexpected...it's scary and funny...all at the same time!!!
