so cold...... brrrr........

supposed to be going to a housewarming party tonight, but I've only just got my house literally warm, having been the amazing human block of ice all day, and I'm not sure I can face going out in the freezing to figuratively warm my coursemate's house.

My best beloved is moving into my flat on Monday... exciting but scary. we'll have been...

Me and my ex-girlfriend never managed living together, even after four years.

On other news the current lady is fabulous. I cooked her a lovely dinner last night and am currently pondering turning up at hers unannounced with a bottle of wine later tonight.

Brrr! Been digging out soil samples all day today in the yorkshire dales. Very cold and very frosty!

Oh and on the heckling I got a write up in the student newspaper under the title 'Heckler at comedy night'. Can't believe it was big enough news for a write up. The link below leads to the article online....

Just got my results, I'm officially a Master! Feel like a Jedi biggrin

sorry it's been ages since I've updated, lots of work on and thinking about moving house.

I've just got back from a conference on children's theatre. Great fun, I got to stay in a proper hotel and wear a delegate's pass and everything! even better was that it was paid for by the...

You're all succesful. It makes me feel quite nauseous.

Success generally flirts with me like some capricious nymph, and invariably leaves me before I can take advantage of her.

just had my neck cracked and my hair cut. The neck feels great, not sure about the hair yet... it's a bit respectable, I'll have to cultivate it back into artistic tousles smile

getting lots of dinner invites at the moment, I feel like a proper grownup. maybe it's the evenings drawing in. maybe it's because nobody can afford to go out. nice though, whatever the...

Right, tag facts coming up...

1. I can dislocate my shoulders, and my arms often fall off if I pick up a heavy bag.

2. I'm frightened of rabbits because of watching Watership Down when I was little.

3. I have an almost pathologically bad sense of direction, I still get lost in London where I've lived all my life, I think it's akin to...

i photographed a gay guy in robin hood's bay which isn't so far from where i live, and the scenery is fabulous. but i don't know what sort of places you're interested in, we could have very different tastes.

i'm just going to do the 20 facts now
goblintcat:
Sock eating just makes for a fine example! wink I think "Hawt" is some strange phonetical spelling of "Hot" as in "That person is hawt". Ack! Rage again!!

Hmmm, it might be a pin-up thing after all then.

I just like the bok . It makes me smile!

As for educational demographic, well, I have a double major in Sociology and English with honours. I then spent 13 years teaching English as a second language (before moving over to the more administrative side of things) so my love of all things grammatical stems from there.

Yay! got the job! I'm going to be choreographing the Southwark Playhouse christmas show, the Canterville Ghost. thank you everyone for all your crossed appendages biggrin

Lark Rise finishes tomorow, very sad that it's ending... also not loking forward to the get out on Sunday, taking apart several tonnes of wooden set. oh well. all good things must come to an end.

Promise I'll do my...

Good luck for the interview later today... you should stroll through... but everything is crossed for you anyway... biggrin

just incase you didn't have enough to do in the meantime TAG!!!! (see my recent journal for details)... tongue
goblintcat:

Tentacles are still crossed! I shall keep them crossed until you say otherwise! I'll also see if I can grab that magic cat and get you some extra luck! Not that you need it of course, it's..umm...sort of like the spare tire...always good to have around just in case! wink

a weird weekend...

my best beloved and I were walking up my road late on Saturday night, bemoaning the continued lack of press coverage of our show, when we heard a squeal of breaks, a thump and saw a pair of trainers flying through the air towards us. then we looked down and saw the guy who'd just been hit by a taxi.

your mind...

I'm glad to hear it was a lovely button! I mean, walking in the rain for an ugly button seems sort of pointless (unless it is spectacularly ugly in which case it's worth the trip just to marvel at it's sheer ugliness!) wink

Upon looking at the picture of that bear, I have decided it might be in my best intrest to not try and hug one if I happen to encounter one! Thanks for the warning!

I didn't get washed away by water or wine this week but I do the whole thing all over again next week so who knows! But for now, I'm home and I'll be able to surf the net and sleep in my own bed tonight!

Yay me!

quick update after being told off by the lovely Taniss!

My shows Lark Rise and Candleford are up and running, they're doing really well with the audiences and the author said he liked our production of the second play better than the National Theatre's smile

however, we're not getting the goddamn press in. they seem to be mystified by the fact that it's a double bill...

Londons a bit of a trek for me really, but I'm sure you're shows are doing as well as you say they are. All my critical cynical friends have moved down south so I'll mention the show to them and see what they're up to during the next few days. I myself will be in nottingham attempting to persuade some venture capitalists to buy in to a spin off from a friends research, supposedly I've got a natural gift for marketing... Hmmm more like the gift of the gab.
mukki:
hmmmm... do theatre critics have friends? (you don't have to answer that one incase you incriminate yourself)...

hope the run is going well... i do have a very good friend who deals with project funding by North West Arts, so if you fancy touring in the Manchester area i could introduce...

when i first went to college (in 1983) another friend and i used to go to Baron's Court quite regularly... there was a barbers shop called Renato's to the right of the station entrance... Renato was/is an old italian barber - my friend had a perfectly level flat-top and I had a swept back 30s style haircut... we would then sit in the window of his cafe next door, drinking frothy coffee out of glass cups, smoking roll-ups, looking cool in our sharp tweed suits with narrow ties while the girls walked past on their way from the tube to the nearby ballet school...

do you know if this place is still there? limited choice of haircuts for me now, but the frothy coffee would bring back good memories...

wow... thesis is done and handed in.

can't quite believe it, such an anticlimax... there should have been fireworks and a brass band at least!

I'm an ecologist. Looking at global treeline phenomena in europe and new zealand. So yeah beautiful misty mountains will feature in my life for most of the next three years. What are you planning to do now?

Looking conspicuous by lack of update there. Almost as bad as me...tsk tsk.

A special bonus point if you can spot the reference to yourself in my latest piece of writing! wink

Totally unintentional, I assure you!

ooooh... nearly finished... quite an odd feeling surreal

sorry to have vanished for a week, work has more or less taken over my entire brain. any time not spent in rehearsal, on the tube or in front of my computer has been taken up with things like eating, being asleep and slowly decending into academic madness, making little monkey noises and dribbling.

now there's a nice...
