Share a silly or embarrassing memory from childhood
Hey SG Land!
Boy, do I have some stories for you! This weeks blog homework brought up a lot of hilarious and cringe worthy memories that have always haunted me with their ridiculousness. I'm sure everybody says this but I really do mean it when I say that I was one weird kid.
There are a few memories that stick out to me, one being the name of this blog. The Sparkle Tragedy. Sparkle was my favourite out of 4 hermit crabs that I had gotten. She was quite small and her shell was so pretty, it was a mixture of pink and purple (my favourite colours at the time.). Unfortunately one day she passed away and I was absolutely beside myself. I decided it was only right to give her the funeral she deserved.
I placed her in a small heart shaped box. I dressed myself as a nun (wearing a pillowcase as a veil and a white sheet.) I forcefully invited my parents to attend. Then I turned on my CD player and chose an extremely heartfelt song to parade Sparkle to her grave, that song was Butterfly by Delta Goodrem. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfJ65Qn1sAk) I popped the link in here just in case you need any perspective. As I placed Sparkle into the earth I demanded my parents say a few words for her, and then I said goodbye to my pink and purple friend.
That was a bit of a tear jerker, huh!?
On to less emotional things I've compiled a list of wonderfully stupid things I can unfortunately remember doing from ages 4 through to 12. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
- One time my brother said he could climb trees better than I could. Just to prove him wrong I climbed up the biggest tree in our backyard, all the way to the top and got stuck there until my parents got home and had to rescue me.
- I was obsessed with being a cat. I would meow, I would hiss, I would climb, purr and scratch. The little cherry on top is that one time I decided to go outside and go to the bathroom... just like a cat would. YIKES!
- I licked the freezer out of curiosity and got my tongue stuck... twice.
- I got sent home from school when I was in Kindergarten because a baby bird fell out of it's nest in the playground and passed away and I was inconsolable.
Well, that's all I have for now folks! I hope this gave you all a little bit of a chuckle. Enjoy the absolutely irrelevant selfie I attached too!
