Every day I stand up to my demons.
Every day I stand up to my depression and anxiety.
Depression tells me that I'm exhausted, I should give up, that I'm empty.
Anxiety tells me I need to panic, I can't talk to anyone, I can't go outside.
Sometimes these feelings are overwhelming, but I never let them win.
I stand up to my demons. I get out of bed, I have a cup of tea, I do my hair and makeup, I prepare to live.
Sometimes standing up to your demons can be simply getting out of bed and having that shower, sometimes it can be taking a walk, sometimes it can be working towards a dream.
Some days aren't as productive as others, but that's okay, I still did what they told me I couldn't do. A simple step forward is a step forward nonetheless.
