I wanted my first tattoos to be special and this is why I chose them. I want to write a little explanation!
First one: I always been in love with dreamcatchers (I have one in my bedroom) and with symbols regarding luck and life.
Dreamcatchers keep negativity and bad luck away, and they also mean purity, protection and safety.
(I wanted some cherry blossom flowers on it because they are my favourite). Why I did it on the high part of my left arm? Thatสผs sad to say, but Iสผm also proud of it, because I used to self-harm and this means I want to definitely stop to think about my past, my pain and my bad habits. This is very important to me.
Second tattoo: the Unalome symbol represents the path to enlightenment in the Buddhist culture. The spirals are meant to symbolize the twists and turns in life, and the straight lines the moment one reaches enlightenment or peace, happiness, inner peace and harmony. The dots at the end of the symbol represent death, or the moment we fade to nothing. There are multiple designs for unalome tattoos, for example, the lotus flower represents new beginnings. This flower also symbolizes the overcoming of adversity towards perfection, thus integrating perfectly with the meaning of the Unalome.
(I did this tattoo with my significant other, since we started a new path together and we want to walk hand-in-hand and continue our life with the presence of each other.)
