Yeah, yeah, I have been a busy lil' bee.I must say that, in my time I have spent off the ole' internet, (PERISH the thought!) I have embraced my inner geek, and managed to read all 7 Harry Potter Books within a week and a half, and did a whole lot of working... and crap like that. It just doesn't get any better than that...

I actually took a couple of days off from work. To- relax? To- pamper myself? Eh, NO. To re-do my shitty living room. I spent my extra vacation days painting. It was a blast. (I'm being sarcastic, of course.) Personally, it would have been alot more fun if I had started drinking dirty vodka martinis during the job, but I can't say how much work...

I blame Governor Lingle.

I'm sure that the state of Hawai'i having a Republican governor has got to seriously upset the balance of nature, doesn't it?

At the very least, it seriously annoys Lono. wink

But you're right about my part of the mainland...we haven't had a major earthquake here since 1886. Though, the way things are going now, I'm beginning to believe that anything is possible...

Still- more rain... you wouldn't think I lived in Hawaii, would you? Was lucky enough to check out the blue moon last night- for a couple minutes anyway, till rain clouds blew over it again. frown It was a pretty sight while it lasted though.
It's back to the reality of making $$ tomorrow. I'm by no means excited about it.Whatever. Someone has to pay the...

Look on the bright side: at least hurricanes/tropical storms are still (relatively) rare in Hawaii. The Atlantic hurricane season just started on Friday, and already my particular corner of the mainland has dealt with "sub-tropical storm" Andrea and is currently dealing with the remnants of tropical storm Barry. This far inland we don't have to deal with storm surge or very much wind, but it's always a major rain event and tornado threat when these things blow through.

So, it could always be worse... wink

It's all good, though. If it weren't for the occasional tropical system, southeastern meterologists would have very boring jobs indeed during our summers.

"Partly cloudy, scattered afternoon thundershowers, highs in the 90s, lows in the 70s..."

Cut, paste, print. There's your forecast for the next three months.

It's been raining here. And while most people get a 3-day weekend? I had to work the entire thing! Eh! So much for excitement! I suppose the upside is to think of all the $$ I'm makin'... whatever Today's my Friday anyway... and I am DAMN happy about that! biggrin
giddyiguana:
Hmm...am I to assume you're working some lame service-sector job as well? I had to do the same dang thing at Bed Bath & Pooed On...sucks to be me, right? But finally I have some time off coming, and you'd better believe I'm going to enjoy it. biggrin
giddyiguana:
Holy cow. Two days off in a row for me, with nary an attempt at a call-in by my bosses.

This has got to be some kind of record! eeek
