Perhaps I should clarify a bit.
Push2.0 is a local band as pretentious as they come. Being a Certified Music Snob, I'm completely licensed to issue labels. Now, I'm very much a supporter of local music, so long as I actually like the music. I know, double standards and such, but fuck you for bringing it up.
Point is, they suck. They seem to be more concerned with image rather than sound or songs. Feel free to take a look at their pictures.
Their suckage is more powerful than a roid-raging Dolph Lundgren (who, after all, has SOME appeal -- ROCKY III!?!!)
My close personal friend, who happened to play a show with them last summer, happened upon their page and I summarily checked it out. Fairly decent site, yes. A little pretentious, totally, but I can dig that -- I love Pink Floyd and Radiohead.
So I listen to their ONE mp3 on the site. Utter horseshit. Sounds like piss. Sounds like it was mixed in dutch whore's rectum. The hi-hat was the lead instrument?!
After seeing their pictures, I should have guessed.
The preoccupation with IMAGE over SUBSTANCE is my biggest pet peave in the world, and I happen to get off on confronting people's delusions of grandeur.
So I wrote them some nice fan-mail under the guise of a very homosexual "bottom", wishing for the lead singer "tr0y" to come back to Saugatuck.
Unfortunately, I did this at work. My bad.
Fast forward to Friday morning. Boss is on vacation. I was looking forward to doing nothing all day. Instead, I get an email saying that the President of the company was notified that someone at the company's IP was leaving "libelous" comments on the Push2.0 website. IS dept. worked overtime tracking down the offender to the studio, where I work, where the executive producer and studio manager, my boss, was notified.
I didn't know flaming someone on an idiotic, futuristic, heavy-metal flash site was ground for getting written up. I was wrong.
I have a meeting with my boss and the Big Cheese of the company on Monday in which I will plead to keep my job and and find some excuse for leaving a sophomoric comment comprised of feigned homosexuality and insincere flattery.
HOW FUCKING GEIGH IS THAT????
