It’s a spooky season and I brought a recommendation for those who enjoy Japanese culture and horror stories.
I’ve been reading the works of mangaka Junji Ito, a specialist in horror stories and I’m addicted. Maybe you’ve heard about one of his most notable works, the manga: “TOMIE”.
Tomie is the story of a mysterious girl (or rather, entity) who has a fascinating beauty and drives men crazy. No one knows where she came from or who she is. The most bizarre thing about this story is that her admirers are so fascinated that they want to kill her, but even though she is killed, she always comes back.
I really liked Tomie’s story, you can understand why it is one of his best known works. Here in Brazil it has two full volumes, and it’s amazing.
I liked this work so much that I made my first cosplay set of it for SuicideGirls, it will soon be in the review of members and you can see it.

Junji Ito also has other popular works that deserve your attention, such as Uzumaki and Gyo.
My boyfriend is a true manga collector and he is almost completing his Junji Ito collection. They are still sealed but I will soon open them to read them. I’m sure they’ll be as good as Tomie’s story.
