Finally had a nice easy night at work. It was the first time in about two weeks that all the stations were manned. What a relief it was to not have to stay late cleaning the whole kitchen because there was no one else to do it.
I think the people I work with are starting to see me as being the guy in charge. I'm noticing that they tend to defer to me when it comes to food decisions and disputes over the job. I think it must be because I have to be the constant mediator between the front of the house staff and one of the cooks I work with. Like a babysitter I have to keep them apart. Some of the respect must come from cooking a few of my specialties for everyone to eat for dinner.
In any case it isn't too bad a feat, considering I've only been there for three months.
