So I went out last night for my friend's birthday.
Spent more money then I should of, but hell...I needed it. Stacy, the birthday girl, is one of my best friend's sisters, and when you put the... Read More
"Moonlight illuminate my night and my days sunray make the people say
And a vision something's missing so they're screaming out loud
Keep my feet on ground and my head in the clouds.
I'm the arrow, you're my bow, shoot me forth and I will go
And I know and I go and I go get up and go
Make me feel its for real... Read More
Don't you love the moments where things may all be going haywire in your life, and you're not sure about anything, but something so simple, primal, lets you know that it's all going to work out?
I do. That's how I live my life.
I'm glad you know that Philly is the right place for you. As long as you keep that-- everything else will work out. It's something that we have no control over, but an animalistic effort to make succeed.
You'll be just fine. How'd that interview go btw? I did get the text.. my phone has been running out of battery too fast lately.
...and I redid the math...it's most likely not going to cover the bills.
Ok...I'm working on a new plan of action.
At least for the moment I'm spending my days with cool people and putting some money back into the bank account. And I get to watch beautiful women pass by the corner of Broad and Walnut.
I have a job offer. It's local, good hours, it's got room for advancement, and it sounds like a great atmosphere to work in. They've got 7 stores...I'd start in the main one in center city Philadelphia and then possibly get moved to one closer to where I live.
The thing that worries me is money. It's a... Read More
can't give any more advise than all three before me.
just flash a picture of LadyJane with the sales job .....and you will sell a lot more of whatever you'll be selling
So I've had two interviews and a store visit since last thursday...both seemed interested in me, but I'm leaning toward one more then the other...but, I'm still waiting to hear back from the headhunter about several places, so I'm not making any decisions yet.
Plus, when I got home today I had a check waiting in my mailbox for unused vacation time I was owed...$1300... Read More
You know, that's really understandable. I'm very lucky that my company is cool with tattoos to a certain extent. There are at least two people who are sleeved out and a lot of us have some visible tattoos; especially the women. It seems to be more accepted that the women have ankle tattoos, and wrist tattoos and the ever present tramp stamp.
SO I got a phone call the other day from a headhunter...he had seen my resume on monster and wanted to meet with me. He explained companies pay him to find quality employees and I wouldn't have to pay him anything. I'm going for an interview on thurday morning to see if I'm a good fit for any of the companies he represents.
It's not sad at all. 9-5 desk jobs are underrated. You know what your hours are, the pay is usually decent, and it's a job.
This transfer will be the first white collar desk job I've ever had in my life. I look forward to it. I've paid enough dues in the Navy, doing shitty freelance, and working in a hot, cold, stinky, musty ass warehouse. If anything, this position will free me up to look for better freelance and licensing opportunities.
I've been filling out job aps like a madman the past few days...last night I applied to WaWa for a manager and an asst manager position (it's like 7-11, it's a major chain in NJ, PA, DE, MD and VA for those of you nowhere near here).
Today I got a call back from WaWa...good pay scale, room... Read More
Definitely go for job satisfaction, so long as you can earn enough to get by. It is a long, frustrating workday when you hate your job and no amount of money can really compensate for that.
