My room is slightly less messy than it was yesterday, but it's still not making me happy. Although the light in the room makes me feel very comfortable and at ease, so nothing gets done since I'm so relaxed.

I went to buy something at neiman marcus today, where the woman who was supposed to help me ignored me until I was halfway through the buying process where she noticed very quickly I had a LV Murakami wallet that she wanted. You're apparently supposed to dress up in your very best to go shopping in order to get any respect from the staff.

After she realized I wasn't dirtying her department by being a pierced, dirty student who was giggling at buying expensive clothes, she and I talked about where I work, independent Japanese designers and other not-so-poor-young-bummy-pierced person things. By the end she was begging me to find her the Murakami keychains for LV that they discontinued in the states when I go back to Japan.

I bet she felt stupid for slighting me based on appearance when I first walked in.

My clothes, my obvious age, my metal - it's obvious why she wasn't happy to see me in the store. Maybe they should train staff to be equally nice to everyone, though - if I were filthy rich, I'm sure I'd still dress the same.

I had a similar experience at Nordstroms recently. Evidently, biker boots, a t-shirt with a naked devil woman and jeans does not mark you as a guy interested in a $300 pair of shoes.

I second the GhostCowboy!

And YES! We are over due for Brunch... But it seems Brunch with the SGSF crew is getting hard to come by these days. Maybe we should try to get a smaller group to actually see it happening?
