I watched 2046 last night, I do have a big soft spot for Wong Kar-Wai.
Michelle had yet to see any of his films, so I had them all sent to me here (except Chungking Express, which my friend couldn't locate in my dvd box) and I was lent a very nice Chinese copy of 2046. She and I are going to watch them all in turn - and I haven't seen them in a while, so I don't mind.
Considering it's a Chinese film, the copy isn't a cheap ripoff, it's actually really beautiful packaging... anyway, it was good. It was interesting and I hadn't realized all the connections to 'In the Mood for Love' until near the end. In hindsight it all makes sense, but before then I didn't know except the reoccuring mentions of certain lines of phrases from his past films... but he just does that, even if there is no formal connection between his films.

Also, I saw Battle Royale for the first time last week. Can you ask around and see what the fuck that was all about?
