A friend of mine works for a company which markets products to young men. The company discussed using an attractive, scantily clad woman in an ad. The female employees primarily in the accounting department threw a fit!! They became enraged about how degrading it was to women to have one in their ad. So instead the company agreed to continue to have only photos of their products with no models at all.
Hearing that angered me. I am not really the kind of model they need, so I am loosing any work over it, but someplace, in the name of feminism, an attractive girl just lost the ability to earn $200. I said to tell them I model nude and I think the only ones who are being degrading are the feminists by trying to impose their will and ideology onto another womans body and supposing that woman is somehow too dumb to decide for herself if she is comfortable with being depicted in a certain way or not.
Then I saw a commercial on TV for a chocolate flavored diet bar of some sort. It had some woman saying how Only Chocolate can keep a woman happy a roommate asked if this was true, if chocolate was the only thing to keep me happy. I said, if so, I may as well end it all now. Then we switched channels and there was some awful Kay Jewelers commercial with their Every kiss begins with Kay line which is horribly stupid. So I got to thinking, how is it when a woman of her own free will chooses to model her body in a sexual manner or in a manner which another person INTERPRETS as sexual, (and we all ARE sexual beings anyway), she is degrading women, but when a commercial claims women can be bought with cards, flowers, chocolate, cheesecake and diamonds it is somehow cute and NOT degrading? What kind of skewed reality do these people live in? I find it highly offensive when I hear stuff how all women love cheesecake and chocolate and can somehow be quenched with it. That is bullshit and in my opinion SO much more degrading than the majority of the sexy ad copy I can think of. Crazy! The women in the accounting department need to get their heads out of whatever orifice they are presently inserted into IMHO.

In the years that the missus and I have been involved in the swinging community, aka "the lifestyle" we've come across the most unusual circumstance.
It would appear that amongst so called "open-minded" people the men AND women both carry the same double standard. You see if you are in a couple and you invite a woman to your bedroom then it is fine, sport even, but if you invite a MAN then it is cheating.
Not my idea, but it's altogether too common.
In my opinion this viewpoint is an insult to a womans sexuality. Somehow sex that involves two women is not sex in the minds of these people. It's regarded as play and nothing else. I'd have to assume that there isn't a lesbian in the world who holds such a dismissive attitude towards their sexual encounters. And though I could prattle on endlessly about the reasons it exist in the community I'm perfectly capable of summing it up briefly. This attitude grows out of the insecurity and homophobia of the men, and is compounded the men-on-men specific homophobia of the women and their lifetime of programming that tells them to do whatever it takes to make their men happy.
Sad state of affairs amonst people who claim to be open minded.

Yeah, out the window. It makes me sad that my field is the only one that graduates LESS women every year. Even the hard sciences and math do better.
And I think, especially from talking to women who are starting out in college in my field, that it's because of the behavior of the people in the field. All women in a programming class seem to be treated as if they're retarded.
