Things could really change for me in the next few days.
My father has been accepted into hospice. That means it has been determined he has less than 6 months to live and has no hope of recovery. He is in a nursing home at the moment but I don't like the idea of him being there, parked and waiting for the body to cool off. That sits with me very wrong. If you are going to write someone off as dead and park them then just put them out of their misery. Otherwise, treat them as a living creature until they really die.
So after much argument with my mom and those who share my home I have decided I will keep him here with me and care for him until he dies. He was a good dad and he deserves to die with those who love him around him and as part of his family, not just like a warm corpse at a home.
As of Monday I will have my father in my home. He is supposedly not responsive. He has always been responsive to me though, so I am at least a tiny bit hopeful he is just not responsive to them becasue he doesn't know them and knows they have parked him there to die.
We'll see. I'll be a busy girl here soon and will continue to be until my father passes.

*sighs*
its good to know there are still people out there who care about others. especially with all the other extraneous crap you have to put up with (or so ive read)
take care of yerself and your father and i hope hius time spent with you is as pleasant as it can be
(and watch out for argumentative family members trying to start crap... they may or may not though *shrug* depends on what all is worked out)
