Oh what a day. I was awakened by a call from my son's school that he had been hit by a car. 
SO they proceed to tell me he is fine just a scratch, but would not let me talk to him. I asked if the driver was freaked out and the nurse said I guess she was very sorry.
So my son comes home and his hand is scraped up and his back bike tire is messed up. I talked to him about what happened and the driver did not ever talk to the school. What he said happened was she hit his bike and sent him flying and skidding on his hands. She then said she was really sorry and drove away. His bike was fucked up and he had to walk it to the school. WTF? WHO HITS SOMEONE'S FUCKING KID AND THEN DRIVES AWAY leaving the poor kid to limp away with a fucked up bike?
So I called the police and filed a hit and run complaint against her. I know maybe I was being a bit of a reactionary cunt by potentially really ruining her day, but seriously it bugged me all afternoon since he got home thinking how little she cared about him. I mean if I had even had a kid bump into my parked car I would go into the school and make sure I had given the right information to the right people, it is the law when a vehicle and anything else collide. Especially when you hit someone's child. So I'm sure nothing is going to happen one way or another, but on principal I wanted to report her and in case he ends up with a hairline fracture or I can't fix the bike or one of the scrapes on his hand becomes infected I have some recourse in case I need it. You just don't hit people's children and drive away do you?
The police made me feel kind of dumb for calling them.

once i saw a teenaged guy riding his bike on the sidewalk, and this SUV turned right and hit him...and the people in the SUV flipped the kid off for getting in their way.
