This has been a weapon filled birthday for my son. We built the potato cannon last night and this evening we just finished assembling a "desktop" trebuchet kit, which is actually really big, about knee high. I bought him the more expensive one because it came with wheels and had a wood counterweight bucket but I didn't realize it was at least half again bigger than the one commonly sold with the paper penny basket. I also got him a monogrammed knife, a flying monkey slingshot and a flying FUCK from thinkgeek

along with some books and a new book case for his bedroom, some clothes and other various stuff. A lot of weapons though.

We also lucked out and found potatoes for $0.79 for a 10# bag. I bought him 20#. Hopefully tomorrow will be good times.

Since we are never ones to skip the gag gift, I also got him some Twilight theme conversation hearts from team werewolf guy. He was ecstatic about the ammo for his trebuchet and is now launching nasty Twilight heart after Twilight heart at me. I guess I didn't think that one through well enough

My brother was talking about getting him a gift certificate for Bondurant high performance driving school. I'm not sure if he will or won't, but I signed my husband up for it, I know he will have a blast. Just the thing for big kids.

P.S. getting hit in the back of the head with Twilight candy sucks.
