If anyone ever wants to see an illustration of everything wrong with women I think New Moon is the epitome of it. I'm glad I did not pay to see this travesty of a story. I only saw the first one a few weeks ago because of all of the hype about New Moon I rented it from Netflix. It was ok. So when someone downloaded Newmoon and was watching it I figured I'd give it a viewing.
OH MY GOD!!! Seriously. It is like it takes every retarded fairy tale women get told, and amplifies it. Parents wonder why their daughters date bad boys, why they get married too soon, why they are never really satisfied with things. The reason is all of the retarded stories about love and marriage morality and virginity we get told as little girls.
Our childhood is supposed to be when we learn how to be an adult. Instead our parents and I guess teen novelists resort to these awful stories. Filling our heads with the most retarded ideas. No one ever sits you down when you turn 18 and untells you this stupid shit. NO one ever sits you down and says, well, the whole virginity til you marry thing isn't really a big deal. No one really cares about it once you get over 20 and even then, only if you are behaving in a careless and hurtful manner with it. No one ever pulls you aside and reminds you how "happily ever after" is bullshit. No one tells you how the moment you get married is the moment the hard work begins. Not the beginning of easy street.
This stupid ass movie has this vampire guy decide he needs to move away, so instead of being honest with her he breaks up with her and tells her she sucks and never wants to see her again. The rest of the movie is about her being self destructive doing stupid self harming things and fantasizing about the guy who dumped her. Meanwhile she is using this other guy who has had a thing for her since the first movie to get him to build her a motorcycle and hang out with. She is using him but still pining for this guy who was cruel to her. She decided if she hurt herself badly enough he would come stop her from hurting herself. Instead the other guy had to rescue her. Then she heard the guy who dumped her was going to kill himself because he was so distraught over having dumped her so she raced to where he was (around the world) and managed at the last possible second of course, to save him. Then she dumped the guy who was always there for her and the guy who dumped her agreed to kill her and make her a vampire and asked her to marry him. The end.
Seriously. And we wonder why women stay with men who abuse them and hurt them and cause them nothing but grief. Why women don't take getting blown off and dumped at face value. Why women try to change men and try and try and try despite all evidence pointing to fail. It's like we have been trained, since birth to accept this as our lot. It pisses me off. As I age I gain more perspective and I can see the fallacy and the bullshit psychological damage I have from the lies and misconceptions which were spoon fed to me as a child.
My son has read all 4 books and he informs me the story gets worse! I didn't think it was possible.
Book 3 is all vampire porn, which actually sounds less bad than New Moon truth be told, but if New moon is any indication of the stupidity level, I expect it is again over romanticized and given some magical meaningfulness to further corrupt young adolescent minds. Angry vampire sex, halfbreed pregnancy, a vampire c section, some psychic stand off. It all sounds pretty stupid.
