I guess I should post an update. I finished a semester at school, 3 A's and a B+ so I did ok. I also moved, AGAIN and have been very busy refinishing my furniture since moving so much in a year really takes it's toll on furniture. I also was unimpressed with the outdoor furniture I have seen and the price of it, (over $5000 for the set I wanted from Pottery Barn by the time I get everything) so I bought some wood and made an outdoor sectional to seat 7 and 2 club chairs and a big center table/ottoman. Now to get 9 friends wink The first one looks a little "Rustic" as my husband calls it because I changed my mind about how I wanted it to look several times as I was making it. The subsequent pieces look much nicer. I finished the wood work up today by routing the feet and edges of everything not previously routed just to give a nice finished look. All of the wood came to around $200 and I have spent 4 days working on it. I need to spend another $400 on fabric and cushions, still a far cry from $5000 and my set is unique and custom fitted to the patio, plus I get to put my formal education to work since designing furniture is what I ultimately want to do with myself. I want to build a "Sunsail" covered Pergola and hang outdoor curtains to offer morning and afternoon shade and keep the bugs at bay. Something like this:

I could not find my safety goggles, they are packed someplace but who knows where. My router is 2 horse power, it is rather intimidating as far as power tools go and throws a good amount of sawdust around, so it really requires goggles. I ended up putting my sunglasses on and then taping the edges up with blue painters tape. This was a very bad idea, as blue painters tape bonds to skin extraordinarily well after a few hours working in hot weather. When a friend stopped by and asked me WTF and if I had a tinfoil hat too I tried taking the sunglass and tape goggles off and it really hurt and left a red mark on my face which has not yet gone away frown. I guess I just need to go buy a new pair of goggles. I hate how no matter how you try to pack things in order things always get lost and misplaced when you move.

Anyway, I have been very busy and I will be starting 2 summer classes tomorrow. I love being busy, boredom doesn't work well for me.

Hey dear - question for ya - I built something close to your image here. except I have no real cover to keep the rain out and really like the fabric look you did on your setup. Question is what is the outdoor fabric you used, were did you get it, and how did you hang it like so???

I know in AZ it does not rain much - but keep keep in mind if you do a track system it may need to be oiled and if it is in a raining area you may get rust after two seasons.. Thanks for the info...
