So I drove my sedan to the shop this morning and hope they have good news for me soon. I ended up making use of my AAA membership quite a bit today. I made a last minute change to my service plans and opted for taking it to the AAA recommended shop. Not sure if that will help me out since the last two shops I have gone to have broken more than they fixed and not been as nice as they could be. So far these guys seem nice, a father and son team. I'm all for nepotism. And they didn't talk down to me or give me the dumb girl look when I told them what I had done myself and when I said the black and white barrel shaped little valve that hangs out behind the coolant reservoir and the little teal sensor thing that hangs out on top of the engine block they knew exactly what I was talking about. SCORE!!

Got a ride home with one of my tenants and called AAA to have the Vehicross towed to the shop. Guy came and took it away and then the dealership lost it, so there was all kinds of drama with that one.

So down to one very large, rather noisy, standard transmission 4x4 for the rest of the week. I hate standard transmissions for city driving. Just too annoying with all the stopping and going and rolling backwards sometimes. If you have an open road and a zippy car they can be fun, but otherwise give me my one hand one foot, automatic any day of the week.

So anyway, It's been one of those days. A shitty trip to Home Depot just kind of has finished it for me. I really hate that store, I really truly despise Home Depot with every fiber in my body and if I hadn't been in the giant car with the standard transmission that I am not fully used to and lots of construction and traffic today I would have totally gone the 7 miles to go to Lowe's instead. Stupid Home Depot, stupid Home Depot employees, stupid worthless shitty selection and having "special order" displays all over but no way to actually ORDER the special order stuff and employees who look at you like you just asked them to cut off their left nut when you ask them about a special order.

There is a guy who works there who is in a wheel chair, and I guess it was the end of his day, so he was pretty grumpy and shitty already, grumpier and shittier than he normally is. One of his legs fell out of his chair stirrup while I was asking if he knew of anything else I could use besides the special order part he wouldn't get for me. He was wincing and having a hard time getting his leg back into the stirrup. Then his other one came out. And the same thing happened a couple times. I could have offered to help, but then I decided he wasn't being very helpful to me, nor has he ever been helpful to me really, so I just stood there and watched him go back and forth knocking one leg out as he put the other one in. It was more entertaining than I normally would have thought. But maybe that is just because I really dislike the guy. I've been trying to get this part from them for 2 weeks now and talked to him about it 3 times now. I try to avoid him whenever I am there because he is just not helpful or nice ever. When the show was finally over and he had both legs successfully situated I just walked away. I wasn't even going to bother thanking him for his time or pretend I wasn't just standing there to watch him struggle. There just comes a time with people when you are done even playing nice.

Finally home and exhausted and look forward to not doing anything tonight. Thankfully I have a lot of leftovers.
