Just finished the first solid 40 hour week of work that I have had in about a month and thus the summer season begins, soon all the flatlanders will be coming back.
cooked curried fish fry for dinner tonight with steak fries. I passed a greasy spoon on the way home from work tonight and the smell alone was enough to make me run out and buy some haddock.
Whitelynx's Fish fry:
a pound or so of white fish
coating:
3 cups shreaded wheat cereal
2 dozen saltines
2 tablespoons garam masala
1 teaspoon tumeric
1 tablespoon whole cumin
2 teaspoons celerey seed
1 teaspoon whole pepercorn
2 teaspoons mustard seed
3 dried chilis or cayene to taste
crush coating in a food processor, blender or in a plastic bag with a rolling pin.
beat 3 eggs throughly
cut fish into portions
dip fish in flour
in eggs
in coating
in eggs
in coating
fry for 3-5 minutes (350F)
take fish out
let rest
fry for another 3-5 minutes or until brown (425F)
