yeah, sorry i've been so quiet lately. this last computer crash beat into my head once again the importance of doing more frequent backups, so after backing up my main computer, i thought now would be a good time to commit myself to the weeks-long, very manual task of sifting through the hard drives of my other five computers (hey, they just accumulate) collecting all important data, and getting it onto one central computer, and then backing it up. so that's what i've been doing with any time not working.
but i'm glad i did it though because i collected a veritable cornucopia of various unfinished writing efforts that i'd forgotten i had. scribbling my thoughts helps my booze-soaked brain work a bit more efficiently, and i'm one of those geeks with about a dozen half-started "masterworks" and hundreds of randomly scrawled anecdotes and aphorisms that have been cast aside due to disgust and lack of follow-through.
i was especially glad to have found my long-lost rough draft of my philosophy tome. i re-read all 15,000 words. some real nuggets of wisdom in that fucker. the powers-that-be really need to let me run the world. i'll have to re-take-up that project.
i think i might collect all this stuff and hammer it into some coherent form and then leave it to get passed on to my brother's little girls, so at least, if they were ever interested, it could give them some small idea of what their nutty uncle did and thought ...
before he chose to disembowel himself with a samauri sword
and now, off to go mad on my BMX ... keep it real gangsta!

Bikes are super fun - mine's just a mountain bike I take on trails and to the beach and stuff. My husband used to race BMX bikes, so he's really into it - 'til recently I hadn't ridden a bike for like ten years.
If you get the running-the-world job, can I be your secretary or something?
