Am getting my packing done for the weekend away. Have my tent ready and have spent most of the evening sorting clothes out... I definitely have too much stuff.. I guess clothes are also a passion coming a close second to music - but hey you have have got to look good haven't you?
Packing clothes is tricky at this time of year as weather is changeable at the moment so you need a good selection of outfits for all conditions. Also late night open air gigs can be chilly so warm layers important too. And a coat, mustn't forget a coat.. or two.
Have also spent time beginning to sort out my record room.. this task has been on the cards since we moved in here 3 years ago.. so things are all over the place, which means it takes me half an hour at least to find that album I want to listen to... Jesus and Mary Chain.. Psychocandy..give me a mo... bummer still can;t find it.. will have to make sure I get these things into alphabetical order when I get back on Monday morning. Although I suspect it will be several days work to get this all sorted..
Have found two old set lists from concerts many years ago.. have put them in my pictures folder..
one is the Pavement set list from Nov 1992 when they supported Sonic Youth at Bristol Studios.. the other is from Sebadoh spring 1993 at the Fleece and Firkin in Bristol.. both awesome nights.. the kind of nights you have a real spring in your step, a smile on your face and a tear in your eye as you head home.. very , very special.
Note to self..
Must remember to pack some books to take with me for late night reading..
Really looking forward to this weekend now.. when I get back have Mon-Wed off next week and then back at work on Thurs 1st Sept.. seems ages awat at the moment so that is good.
