Fuck you weather!!!

It started raining minutes after I got to the campground. It continued, pretty much unabated through Friday and Saturday. An hour after I got home on Sunday the sun came out and it warmed up 10 degrees.

Despite that, we had a splendid (if somewhat moist) time anyway. We took up residence in a cabin, rather than our usual tent. The cabin had an over-hanging roof and a small front porch. This porch was where we prepared our meals, smoked our cigs and drank our booze. Thanks to my mad skillz with fire, we had heat even in the worst of the downpours and were able to cook our food.

Have you ever camped with a master chef? Try it sometime. Wild boar sausages for breakfast. Scallops, mushrooms and wild onion over wild rice for dinner on Friday. Saturday was a pork stew, w/ meat pies for lunch, and home-made nut pastries w/ honey for dessert. All of this cooked over an open fire. All I had to do was make sure the fire kept going, and keep him supplied with booze.

A good weekend. Could have been a truly great one, a weekend event for the record books. But, any time with friends is good time.
