The racists who are shitting on Rings of Power for the casting, and not the fact that it's an awful show, are proving that they have no fucking clue about the multiculturalism that is at the heart of Tolkien's work. Do I hate the portrayal of the Harfoots because their leader has dark brown skin? No. I hate the portrayal of the Harfoots because their entire culture is based on stealth and moving discreetly, and they FUCKING SING THE RULES ABOUT BEING STEALTHY AND DISCREET AT THE TOPS OF THEIR LUNGS while they are AT THEIR MOST VULNERABLE during migration!!! But I know if I post this on a Tolkien fan page, the comments will be overrun with racists bitching about the casting of Sir Lenny Henry, even though Tolkien himself said the Harfoots were "Browner of skin" than other halflings. The show is shit. The casting is not. I wish the racists would just shut the fuck up and let me hate the show in peace. I like hating shitty things. The racists are ruining my fun hating the show
