The appropriate response to that is NOT a joke. It's not "Fuck it, let's get a beer." There's no ideological different of interpretation involved here. There's just me pointing out an overlooked fact.
The appropriate response is "OK, I see your point. Now, fuckit, let's stop arguing and go get a beer."
