I think I'm incapable of being sensitive to a girl when she is destraught. Mostly because I find most peoples psychological ailments ridiculous. Especially a womens. Because, being a male, I just plain don't understand them(and I never will).
Now, that's not to say I'm better or more put together than anyone else in the world. Male or Female. Between the ages of 19-23, I was the most ridiculous out of anyone I knew. Despair was my home, and I made a mansion of it.
But I needed to go through said period of ridiculousness. It woke me up and shook me out of apathy. Made me more aware of myself and my relationship with the world around me. It made me realize what was important to have in my life.
The most help I received during this time were from my two best male friends. They didn't baby me. Or feel sorry for me. Or try to comfort me. They simply said things like, " Your acting fucking stupid, dude." "Seriously man, you're being an asshole." "What the fuck is your problem?" and my favorite....."Fucking deal with it."
I know. It doesn't sound very intelligent. But it works.
We americans need to swallow our pride and wise up. We are spoiled, babied, impatient, judgemental, unfocused, illogical, and irrational. A nation of entertained fools of whom are deliberately deceptive so as not to be "Rude."
