boxing practice was AWESOME!!!
i had the rare pleasure of kicking a 170 pounder's ass. we were working on some drills together and i schooled him. he caught me with his power a few times (dangerous, considering our weight difference). but i only came out with a sore neck and back for it, despite catching one of them with my teeth.

just got back from the Bad Religion show. it was AWESOME! i'm not including any playlists here, just a cursory overview of the progress of the concert.
Murphy's Law opened. dunno too much about them, but they were some good ol' NYC hardcore. definitely a "people's band". they were so late though, they only got about 15-20 minutes of play time. would see them...

stupid paper...
actually, it's really interesting. i'm researching ways to use corporate governance to raise environmentalism as a key concern of a board of directors. i'm finding several very interesting models, and perhaps even a new career track.
wish me luck...this ain't no undergrad paper - this one's for real!

Do it for all of us. Go Team Earth!!
Speaking of teams. Cal gave USC a great game last year (both were undefeated). The Stanford game was close, too, though that was a tale of two halves like ASU this year. Oregon State and UCLA both played USC rather tough, though I think UCLA had a closer score. However, none had the "heat" of the game against the Irish. Maybe it was shades of Miami in '88 or Florida State in '93 (I watched both games on TV, mind you). Maybe it wqas the national audience. Maybe it was the streak.
One thing I'm sure of, Oregon is playing much better now than they were in the first third of the season. They started calling a much more aggressive, attacking defense and it is paying off. As important is them becoming more familiar with the new offensive system that was put in place last year. The former offensive coordinator left to Utah, and the Utes' offense has since taken a real dump. Prior to playing USC, Oregon had to play a very physical, talented Fresno State team. I think with a week off to prepare for USC, Oregon could have played USC to a much closer finish.
