you know you're at a high point in your life when you get drunk off wine while watching "Rome" with a buddy, and then come home to finish the bottle (that you've been drinking by yourself)...

at least i have the werewithal to correct my misspellings, numerous as they were smile

WOW...

just got back from the Bad Religion show. it was AWESOME! i'm not including any playlists here, just a cursory overview of the progress of the concert.

Murphy's Law opened. dunno too much about them, but they were some good ol' NYC hardcore. definitely a "people's band". they were so late though, they only got about 15-20 minutes of play time. would see them...

boxing gym, opened, felt GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT to get back in there! smile of course, the fact that i haven't really been training very hard was made painfully obvious to me confused

anyway...started working with the rhythm bag today. it is tough, not so much for the rhythm part ("i got rhythm!..") but moreso for the directional control. one must punch very precisely and accurately with perfect technique to...

wow...so many records were set/tied in today's game. i'm very proud of my boys right now. i wanna send them all cards and flowers, but that might be a bit awkward, don't you think? tongue

my dear Illini, on the other hand, did not fare so well. *sigh...* oh well, at least our recruiting is looking good. so far, our class for next year is ranked...

stupid paper...

actually, it's really interesting. i'm researching ways to use corporate governance to raise environmentalism as a key concern of a board of directors. i'm finding several very interesting models, and perhaps even a new career track.

wish me luck...this ain't no undergrad paper - this one's for real!

Do it for all of us. Go Team Earth!!

Speaking of teams. Cal gave USC a great game last year (both were undefeated). The Stanford game was close, too, though that was a tale of two halves like ASU this year. Oregon State and UCLA both played USC rather tough, though I think UCLA had a closer score. However, none had the "heat" of the game against the Irish. Maybe it was shades of Miami in '88 or Florida State in '93 (I watched both games on TV, mind you). Maybe it wqas the national audience. Maybe it was the streak.

One thing I'm sure of, Oregon is playing much better now than they were in the first third of the season. They started calling a much more aggressive, attacking defense and it is paying off. As important is them becoming more familiar with the new offensive system that was put in place last year. The former offensive coordinator left to Utah, and the Utes' offense has since taken a real dump. Prior to playing USC, Oregon had to play a very physical, talented Fresno State team. I think with a week off to prepare for USC, Oregon could have played USC to a much closer finish.

you're not allowed to push the ball carrier for forward progress, but that's exactly what got Leinart into the endzone (thanks to Bush). wtf? where are the refs? why didn't you say anything Charlie?!

*sigh* but you know what...

the echoes are waking... wink

I've seen O-Lineman doing this for years under the guise of blocking someone holding the ball-carrier up. Every team does it and it hasn't been called in years.

I missed the game because I was at work.

Don't worry, ND is still headed to the Fiesta or Orange Bowl.

i'm SO excited about the game this weekend. not only are we...

blah...my sleep schedule is totally horrible. i really need to see a doc about this, but i don't think i could afford it anyway. besides, i hate going to any kind of doctor.

so, i might as well just come clean on this. i have some pretty severe ADHD. so severe that it totally gets in the way of me going to sleep. which is...

Not sleeping = sucks. I got into some bad patterns during my last term of grad school.

Yes, the kids are in the library, but it doesn't seem to be converting to more reading, unfortunately. They just want to use the computers to do chat rooms or myspace. For soem its because they don't otherwise have computer access. For others it's because there parents hastle them at home for being online too long. This way they can say they were at the library studying.
