metamorphosis

happy new year, everyone! this is going to be a really exciting year for me. i'm starting my first real, permanent, full-time job on monday. sean and i are moving into our first semi-permanent home together next weekend [it's only an apartment, but at least it's just the 2 of us]. our wedding is only 3 1/2 months away. i pray that this year also brings sean a "real" job. or at least that we win powerball. either way, i'm psyched for 2004.

this weekend has been rough. my brother-in-law's mother passed away during the week, and our families are very close. the wake was last night and the funeral this morning. i think i would've handled it okay, but sean was really upset and it made me really upset to see him so sad. it hits too close to home for him, because his parents are around the same age and i know it scares him. especially since we're moving out and leaving his parents "alone." we both do so much around the house, it's easy to see how they'll miss the help, but i know they'll be fine [but it's harder to convince their eager-to-please little baby boy].

after this 2-week break, i really don't feel like going to work on monday. i'm really nervous about it, too. i obviously impressed them in my interview, but i'm still nervous about being able to impress them with my actual work. *sigh*
