@aflalimo I switched from the degree my dad wanted me to pursue which was computer science. To art history because it was the easy way out. I could party and still complete school. I worked at the Denver Art Museum until my alcholism cut that career short.
aflalimo:
@metalhornshigh Aww, dude, I'm sorry on many accounts to hear this. I always wanted to be a writer, but my parents vehemently disagreed with my talent and my choice. Writing was a hobby, not a calling or a career. So, I pursued a medical degree. I even got accepted to a rather nice medical school before I decided I needed to be honest with myself and choose happiness that would last, not happiness of the moment. I was not hooked on alcohol, but I was heavily addicted to painkillers throughout my degree pursuit. I don't know how I managed to get as far as I did. I'm just glad I'm alive because at the end of my pharmacological romance I damn near died a few times.

8 blows my mind
metalhornshigh:
@dariianity it was in the mountains of Colorado in an area called Beaver Ridge. I lived off venison and wild berry’s had to get water from a stream. It was a great time growing weed and living in nature.

These next two were a double whammy of some seriously kickass metal. The opening band The Shrine. From Venice Beach, California, play punk inflected 70’s riff rock, think Black Flag playing Zeppelin tunes. They look like they are out of the 70’s and they fucking slayed.

The next band Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats is a proto-doom metal band from England. Singing about serial killers,

I miss having a cat, I had to give away my kitten when I had to move out of my old house. It was a sad day, which is how I imagine this cat is feeling

The dough has magical properties

A lasagna from the last batch I made

Poke bowl from across the street, the sauce could have been spicier.

That dough in the first pic could be a sculpture. It has artistic qualities to it somehow. Question: what is a poke bowl? And I'm being 100% serious. I have no idea what that is, but it looks interesting...
metalhornshigh:
Poke bowl is a Hawaiian salad with rice raw fish and veggies. It’s the rage in Denver currently. We occasionally trade pizzas for poke bowls. That’s usually the only time I ever eat one. They are not cheap.

This show is in my top ten of the best ones I’ve seen. This was my first time seeing Electric Wizard. This was their first tour of the states since 2000. So ten days before 4/20 at Summit Music Hall 2015. So I promised myself that I would keep my drinking to a minimum, and my homie Chris kept me in check. Having been kicked...

Cats are wonderful companions but they are assholes at the same time. They are fuzzy and cute so it makes it okay.

So this book has some paintings I have seen and some I haven’t and also has some light biographical information most of which I already knew. Dalí was a strange cat to say the least. Of the surrealist painters he’s definitely the most well known. I have had the pleasure of seeing these two paintings in person at the Denver Art Museum when they did...

Indeed. You’re so lucky to have seen these fascinating pieces up close and personal. And, the whole, “Pay your rent, fools,” is funny AF. Thanks for keeping me cyber company and making me laugh on this kinda low day of mine. 🙂🖤
metalhornshigh:
@aflalimo I hope you feel better! I hate being sick, I had some sinus infection a week ago thankfully it’s gone now.

This show was at the Larimer Lounge, my friends band Space In Time opened up the show with their old time Deep Purpleesque rock. It was my second Mutoid Man show. My favorite drummer of all time Ben Koller(Converge, All Pigs Must Die) and one of my favorite guitarists Steven Brodsky(Cave-In) play some seriously tasty metal. This shirt was also created by my friend Santos...

Damn, biscuits and gravy is my diet kryptonite.  I can eat healthy, exercise and as soon as I see sausage gravy, I'm shoveling down 2 plates full.
metalhornshigh:
@jaxons I learned how to make the sausage gravy from my friend Stephanie who is from Georgia. The biscuit recipe is mine. I’m learning how to eat healthy but don’t always do so well. Plus working in a pizza shop doesn’t help.
