Oi, Hola, Ciao, Hello, gorgeous babes and gents. Hope your Sunday is going well. Cat is visiting her folks in Colorado Springs decorating the Christmas tree. Since I hate Christmas and the consumerism that attached itself to a holiday that’s appropriated from a pagan ceremony, I decided to skip this trip, which in turn caused an argument between me and Cat. When she comes back tomorrow, I’m hoping for some make up sex. I went for my morning bike ride and then made a veggie omelette with sweet potato hash browns, that’s right sweet potato hash browns. Genius I know.

The new Gucci Mane record Evil Genius, is some quality tunes from the Atlanta rapper. Decent production and some good guest appearances. This track is pretty dope.

Today I will be making a mixtape of the tunes that I have been jamming out to in the past month, plus some new jams I’ve come across.

This first song is by a group called Mother Falcon, hailing from Austin, Texas. A group of high school orchestra students, bored with reading sheet music, decided to play some original compositions. Ranging in size from the eleven members who tour with the group to twenty-two members when recording. I get lost in the melody of this song.

Polish black metal has come a long way since Behemoth first brought attention to the scene in a country not really known for heavy music. This next group records as a duo but plays live as a four piece. Mgla which is polish for “fog”. Is definitely in the Black-gaze category of black metal. Lush guitar parts accompanied by brutal blast beats and sinister vocals. Their stage outfits are fucking brutal too.

I have always been a fan of this next band which my friend Amber gave me a mix tape of in the early 00’s. Wipers had punk ferocity with great musicianship, not to mention Greg Sage’s song writing ability. I always loved this track.

Bass Drum Of Death has a lo-fi garage punk aesthetic with a surf rock undercurrent. Coming from Mississippi, they left for greener musical pastures of New York City. Heavily reverbed vocals, and a guitar lead that sounds like it could be on a Ventures album, make this tune rather enjoyable.

A band comprised of some current and some past punk legends. OFF! Is what hardcore punk should sound like, aggressive and confrontational.

I am a firm believer that Jimmy Buffett is one of the most underrated songwriters of the seventies. Steeped in country music, it wasn’t until latter years when he adopted the country meets Caribbean aesthetic he is well known for. Just some good time tunes if you ask me.

Beach Slang hailing from Philadelphia( one of my favorite cities in the states) is what I would consider to be the new version of the replacements. Punk attitude with pop hooks. Singer/guitarist James Alex’s voice sounds like he’s recovering from a night of smoking cigarettes and drinking Whiskey. The guitar lead of this track, is very expressive.

I first heard this next artist when I was listening to the Marissa Nadler pandora station, Emily Jane White has one of those voices that haunts your soul. I knew immediately that I had to purchase her latest record. Which I did and thoroughly enjoy.

I have a deep connection to this song. Struggling with alcoholism and drug abuse myself, this song helped me achieve success with my recovery, it also helped me come to terms with my dad’s passing. The chorus at the end is so powerful.

this next group, is one that I just recently had the pleasure of discovering, I don’t know much about the band. I do enjoy the music plus they have a cool name Death Bells reminds me of Joy Division and eighties synth pop.

Today’s bum is a Dutch cutie who has a tattoo of Louise from Bob’s Burgers. She has the most alluring eyes and not to mention an incredibly round bum. The gorgeous @turtle

Have a great day everyone!
