Cat told Nico “your really cool and I like you a lot, I just can’t date right now. It’s not you it’s me, I’m dealing with a bad breakup” Nico was shocked and didn’t let it show, inside he was a wreck. He had to play it cool. “ I understand, I’ve dealt with a bad breakup before, take your time.” Cat gave Nico a hug “thanks for understanding Nico” he replied “you’re welcome Cat.” They decided to call it a night when Cat left, Nico thanked her for letting him drive her Cadillac, gave her a hug and walked back into the apartment building. He went to his apartment and after locking the door. Went to his bedroom and fell face first into the bed, thinking to himself about how he messed up another chance at romance. He went over everything in his head, over and over, analyzing every detail. Eventually he just decided to stop and just give zero fucks. It was business as usual for Nico, besides he was about to go on a trip to Chicago to hangout with his friend and go to an awesome music festival. He went to bed. Nico woke up the next day did some laundry. He had to pack for his trip the next day. He layed out his clothes for the trip and rolled them up so they would fit in to his pack. He was excited to go to Chicago, he hadn’t seen his friend in a while and he was excited to see some good music. Plus he could take his mind off of Cat, but knowing Nico he would still be dying inside. He finished packing and went to get some enchiladas, he got to Minas de Real, sat at his favorite table and ordered some iced tea, looked at the menu, the waitress came back and Nico ordered the chicken enchiladas. He savored each bite like it was his last. The red sauce never tasted so good. He wished Cat was sitting across from him. He told himself that she used the breakup as an excuse to get out of dating Nico, so he used that thought to just forget about her, he didn’t want to be in this position. In the dreaded friend zone. Did he want to be friends with her? He was confused and desperately not trying to stress out about it. So he finished his enchiladas, headed home and decided to watch some movies before going to bed he had to wake up early to get to the airport. He woke up then got on the train to DIA, after the TSA checkpoint he had a great sense of relief. He waited twenty minutes, then got on the plane. Soon he would be in Chicago.
