Hola, Oi, Ciao, Hello gorgeous babes! Hope your having a great day/night. If not I hope it gets better. It’s a great Sunday, Cat stayed over and we had an awesome breakfast of eggs Benedict with a chipotle hollandaise sauce that I finally perfected with a wonderful smoked ham from the carniceria up the street from mi casa. I’ve started learning Portuguese and Italian. Because you can never know too much, plus I follow lots of Brazilian and Italian SG. So it made sense in my mind.

I’m not sure how I missed the new Marissa Nadler last week. It’s really good and her voice is one of my favorites. Her songs are so haunting and beautiful. This is one that I’ve enjoyed tremendously.

Wow two of my favorite bands put out some new records both of which are fucking Incredible. I will start with the new High On Fire record Electric Messiah. High On Fire for those of you that don’t know is Matt Pike’s post Sleep band that has been a stalwart in the metal scene since their birth in 1999. The new record is sort of a concept album about the Annunaki or the ancient god like aliens of Sumerian lore. This record has a great sound and Des Kensel’s drumming is absolutely thunderous, the Bass has copious amounts of fuzz and Matt Pike’s shredding is concise and furocious. This song has a good grip on my brain especially the drum part.

Next up the new Windhand record Eternal Return, is the most delightfully fuzzed out and melodic of the collection. Dorothia Cantrell’s voice isn’t washed out like in the past, the riffs are heavy and they have a song under five minutes, which is somewhat new territory for them as brevity wasn’t a thing on previous records. I’m super excited for their show. This song has been rattling around in my head when I’m not thinking about Des Kensel’s drum beat.

Holy smokes that is some seriously fucking fuzzy metal. Today’s subject is a singer song writer that that has an amazing voice and is a stunning goth princess. I speak of Chelsea Wolfe. I first heard her three years ago, she helped me get through a rough time when my dad passed away. Her voice gives me chills every time I hear it. I’ve gotten Cat into her and I’ve seen her play a few times since my introduction to her music, every show she gets better, every record is different from the last so she is always evolving her sound. Normally I start from the first album and go forth this time I will go in order of the material I heard first and then picked up as I went on. This song was my introduction on a pandora station I can’t remember which pandora station because I was drunk when I first heard this song in April of 2015. Literally a week after my dad’s passing.

I must’ve had this song on repeat until the proper album came out. Once it did come out I wore out my first copy and had to buy a new record. Another song that I really felt was this one.

After a few months of depression drinking and life ruining decisions. I decided to look into her catalog of music and the first record I found at Twist and Shout was her second record Apokalypsis. This song really resonated with me

I love the reverb on the guitar. She makes my soul happy with her angelic voice. Another track on the record that I enjoy is this one.

Upon further digging, I would later pick up her third album from the fine folks at Twist and Shout, the haunting Pain is Beauty. The track that I live the most on this record has a sort of goth surf vibe.

The strings in this next song are what really pulled me in. I love a good string section and have arranged a few in my time.

Stumbling through her catalog was probably the best way to get into her music. If I had started at the beginning I probably would of hated the electronic stuff, that she has done but here I am a stumble bum. The next record I picked up turned out to be a compilation of some of her earlier material. Which is mainly acoustic, I enjoy this one which was re-recorded for Apokalypsis.

This next track has found its way into the playlist rotation just because it is incredibly beautiful and spooky.

I ended scoring her first record from a friend in a vinyl trade last year, I traded some Duran Duran doubles that I had along with a Depeche Mode record I didn’t like, for her first album and a couple Cigaretteman seven inches. Cigaretteman is an awesome Japanese punk band but I digress. The grime and the Glow is a noisy affair that opens with, this track.

I have a love of demons and bounce houses so naturally this song grabbed my attention

Having cemented her place as one of my go to listens, it was without hesitation that I purchased her last release Hiss Spun. Which is the heaviest of her records. Definitely has a doom metal feel to it, it also features vocals from Brian Turner of Isis and Sumac fame. That track is this one here

This one is my favorite from the newish record.

So for today’s bum I have selected this lovely lady that well I just don’t know anything about. I try to have some facts or information so as not to objectify, because they are people with thoughts and feelings and more than just a cute bum. My research turned up blank. Anyways the stunning @missjcristina what a babe

The sweater over the bum is seriously hot. Thanks for support as always. Any suggestions for new music, questions, comments or would like your bum featured let me know in the comments below
