Well I’ve made it to the end of the current batch. There is always more shows and shirts to collect. A few good shows coming up. Alkaline Trio, Windhand, Powertrip, Red Fang, High On Fire, Godflesh. Anyway, this last one is from day three riot fest. It’s from a band I never got to see in their prime. Because they broke up before I could see them play. That band was Jawbreaker. The sixteen year old kid in me, was elated when I found out they were playing riot fest. I immediately bought my ticket and had to live on ramen noodles and hotdogs until my next paycheck, it was worth it. I tried not to hype it up in my mind to much, because when you do that, you get let down, so I kept low expectations. Boy I was not let down at all. They played my favorite song and I couldn’t have been happier. My friend Mikey said he’s never seen me so happy (except when the Lions beat the Packers) although we were far back from the stage it was still awesome.
Back
After closing an awesome weekend of music, I had one day left in Chicago before I had to go back to Colorado. So I went to Kumas Corner. And got the most delicious hamburger I’ve ever eaten. Kumas corner is a dive bar/burger joint. In the Belmont neighborhood of Chicago. It’s a heavy metal themed menu all the burgers are named after bands. They play metal on the stereo and nothing else. They serve local craft brews as well. I went in sat down Mastodon was on the stereo, so I ordered the Mastodon burger. It had onion strings, cheddar cheese, and barbecue sauce on a pretzel roll. I have dreams about this place and all the tasty burgers they sell(I’m such a fat kid) I would have licked the plate clean if there wasn’t a crowd in the restaurant.
