Hello gorgeous babes! I hope your all having a great time wherever you may be. I wish I was on a beach in the Spanish riviera or the Yucatán peninsula with a cute babe. Laughing and building a sand castle.
The more I find myself talking about and thinking about politics, the more grey hairs appear in my beard. So no more politics, president trump is a buffoon, liar, and a fucking traitor. My own uncle voted for that maniac. Today is that uncles birthday, I did not wish him a happy birthday. Is that wrong?
Only one review for this one. The new Skeletonwitch record “Devouring Radiant Light” is really good. It’s the first record since drummer Dustin Bjoltes decided to leave, to pursue Sacred Leather. The groups blackened Thrash is a fierce as ever, Adam Clemens vocals are reminiscent of early Darkthrone records. Relentless blast beats and thrashing guitars pummel the listener into metal heaven.
The rest of this blog will be about my favorite subject Metal! I was ten years old in 1988, top gun was the hit movie and Madonna(I fucking love her) had the number one song. The lions drafted Barry Sanders. It was also the same year I was given my first Metal tape. A school friend who had an older brother that was in middle school. He had given me a tape with Iron Maiden- Number Of The Beast On one side and Metallica-Master Of Puppets on the other. I was hooked, although too young to understand the lyrical content, I loved the way the music sounded. Especially the drums and the guitars. It’s because of Lars Ulrich that I play the drums. He is not my main inspiration however that would be Nicko Mcbrain of Iron Maiden. The two songs that I would play most are
And this classic which recently just made its way back into the setlist at their shows
So many memories and skinned knees from skating on vert ramps in backyards of friends to these two songs. But alas it was the eighties and metal music wasn’t popular so it was hard to find. One had to dig deep to get to stuff like Megadeth, Gwar, Slayer, Death, etc. As years went by I ended up discovering Pantera in 1991. The album was Cowboys From Hell and I made tapes for all my friends who hadn’t heard these guys and their new style. A song that still rips to this day
The liner notes of lps, specifically the thank you sections were great sources of musical discovery. It seemed all the Pantera dudes were about one band. That band was the mighty Slayer. It’s 1993 and at this point Slayer has been a band for 12 years. So I went to the local record store and Picked up South Of Heaven. I was a fan and could hear the influence these guys had on Pantera
Slayer opened up a door to metal that would be in my playlists for a long time until, 1995 I was a junior in high school I had a pretty good sense of metal by this point. Music was easier to find and the Internet was starting become a more prevalent means of discovery. I entered the Hardcore era with my first band being Snapcase.
I ate up everything I could find on the original victory records lineup. Earth Crisis, Bloodlet, Integrity, Cause For Alarm and numerous other groups, my hardcore phase would last well into my twenties, when I discovered grindcore, not a new style of metal but one I had never heard of at the time it’s 2003 and a friend of mine told me of a band called Pig Destroyer
I was blown away by the intense bursts of power and blast beats. I bought every grindcore release I could find. Everything from Terrorizer to Napalm Death. Then while a night at the bar a friend had played me a song from his iPod this song was
I was hooked by the massive riffs, of this style of music which I am still a fan of. My friend told me that the guitar player Matt Pike was from Golden, Colorado, and that his new band was playing a show at the local bar. That band is High On Fire. I would later be introduced to other sludge/doom metal through these guys. One of those bands is Electric Wizard. I FUCKING LOVE ELECTRIC WIZARD!
Thank you for coming along with me on my metal journey. Your probably wondering what happened to the death metal or black metal sections. Well those are blogs of their own entirely. The only style of metal I don’t care for is djent, as it confuses me, it goes too many directions.
Today’s Bum is an English woman who is a metalhead herself. She has a cute smile and great bum. I don’t think she is active on here anymore so I won’t be tagging her. The incredibly babely Melissa Clarke!
Thanks again babes! As always comments, questions, suggestions for new tunes, or if you would like to see yours or someone else’s bum featured. Holla at ya boy in the comment section. Also feel free to give a homie a follow if you don’t already.
