goodbye hmv, hello life!
my day so far has gone according to plan. Travelled for 2 hours to new Windsor store to have this 10 minute (but very important) meeting. They asked about my progress, and asked the usual "well why do you think that is?" type questions.I said i wasnt happy with the current situation, and although i do enjoy HMV and want to be a manager someday-a serious career doesnt feel right for me yet.They asked what it was i wanted. I said in an ideal world id like to take a year out to work out what it is i want and travel for a bit, but still have the opertunity to return. They said "fine" and agreed to what i suggested. The way they see it is that they have spent a great deal of time and money on my development and to deny me my happiness and potential imput to the company in the future would be foolish. I can come back at team leader level and progress at my own pace when (and IF)i choose to return to the company.
I am going to work my four weeks notice and my last day is July 2nd. I already have 17-20 june booked off as holiday for jack/james wedding thing, and Gemmas degree show so the next month should fly by.
I feel really liberated and want to do so much!
Its taken a while for me to get here, but i finally feel happier with everything than i have in a long time. I feel like the shit ive been through with work and relationships in the past 18 months finally have a purpose. I truely feel like ME again for the first time in ages. I just hope it all lasts. And the sunshine helps of course!!!
