I think it is a real fear that I will wake in the land of the lizard people. I spent a lifetime there already. 7 days in a semi-coma in Raleigh's REX ICU. A lifetime in the land of the lizard. Lounge lizards hanging the walls in reptile skin, hanging flicking tongues. Less real than the time I spent in Tallahassee courting red devil girls. I went to a Moody Blues concert in Tallahassee and never got home. I'm one of those legendary corpses they found along the side of the road following the Dead, after the dead had passed. But I thought that I had lived until the GDDS took a license photo of me that is clearly someone else and found I had not lived but been replaced by this...I barely resemble the child I was. And what I was? An amalgam of what I was seen to be...'To die, to sleep...To sleep: perchance to dream'. And in this dreaming. I think it is a real fear that I will wake in the land of the lizard people. I spent a lifetime there already, but imagined it was a dream. But if a man, beside a tree in a forest falls, alone, was he ever there at all? Red devil girls... ☺
