I just got out of the slammer . . .

My roommate and I watched "The Invention of Lying" starring Ricky Gervais the day before I went to jail (21st of March) because she said it was one of her favorite movies. This is important and you might want to google it. I drank a 40 while watching it with her. No problem.

The next day I drive her to the store and buy her dog food. I had been performing at open mic nights so I was working on a set list and drinking a beer in my room and she found out and went crazy:

"YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE DRINKING IN THE HOUSE!!!"

I was dumbfounded. She didn't seem to have a problem the day before. Anyway a whole scene began and the police were called by both of us. She told them she wanted me forcibly removed. The cops told her I was a grown-ass man and could have a beer in my room if I wanted and since it isn't her house she would have to get the landlord to evict me. She told them I had a habit of getting drunk and going out on the front porch naked and masturbating. The cops just rolled their eyes but it showed then and there my roommate was totally comfortable lying to the police.

The cops asked me if there was somewhere else I could go but I reasonably pointed out I had had a few beers and shouldn't be driving anywhere.

They left. Later on she unhooked the modem to try and make me suffer so I called the cops again and they told her since I paid the bill and it was a shared utility she had to plug it back in. They also told her they weren't going to force me at gunpoint to leave - she had do it legally. But she refused to listen. She was DETERMINED to get me out. She waited until the cops left and unplugged the modem anyhow.

So sometime after midnight I went out to make a sandwich and she came out and started a fight with me and I screamed "WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM!!" And she started screaming "HELP! HELP!" and the neighbors burst in the back door.

(This is strange too. They live across the street. The back yard is fenced in. But they burst in IMMEDIATELY.This means my roommate earlier in the day told them something along the lines that she feared for her life (even though I gave her no reason to think so ever) and then called them when she heard me in the kitchen. They were WAITING out there.)

Anyhow the cops were called and she told them I choked her. The arresting officer said there were no marks on her at all and he really didn't think I was guilty but he had to take me in anyhow. Impeding breath is a felony assault charge. My bail was 25 grand.

The thing is, the cops should have known what was going on. It was ridiculously obvious from the day's events that she couldn't accept that she had to get the landlord to evict me so she lied to the police so they would act as her personal eviction force.

After two months the district attorney dropped the charge but who compensates me for the loss of two months of my life? The loss of my job? It seems that in domestic violence cases the cops have to arrest SOMEONE, but they should have arrested her for clearly lying to them, since there wasn't even one shred of evidence of bodily harm of any kind. A FELONY assault charge should at the very least require a trip to the hospital and she simply walked back into the house laughing.

Also, she sent me a bogus 3-day notice to vacate in JAIL, which freaked me out. My father and brother went and got all my stuff and put it in storage. While I was in jail I gave my dad access to my bank account and he discovered that a debit of $79.02 from "San Marcos Utility" was charged to my bank account. That means my roommate, not being able to pay her bills, told the electric company to charge the last payment info, because I paid the previous two bills (even though they had her and her son's info) which is unauthorized use of a debit card and is also a felony, one for which she has not been punished at all.

And I guess she would say it was on autopay but the bill is in her son's name and I would NEVER put a bill in someone else's name on autopay for my card.

Anyhow, just wanted to vent. I guess I am glad I eventually got SOME justice, but I still think that bitch should suffer for what she did to me.

Oh my goodness, that is horrible! I’m so sorry you had to go through that. I hope you are ok... hugs
