I was going to ask why you were dropping out, but then I realized you'd already answered the question so I just read the answer in groove's journal. Yes, I am a nosy person.

I came close to doing the same thing near the end of my freshman year. It was just one awful English professor who completely traumatized me -- I never took another English class again after that one. God he was awful. I turned the course's final paper in three weeks late by sliding it under his office door when I knew he wouldn't be there, and that was it for me. That close to dropping out.

So yeah. Sympathies. You know what's best for you, and you're too cool a person to let this be the end. Eventually you'll get to where you need to go.
