Top Ultraviolent Mythologically Derived Spartan Deity Action

So for the last few weeks I've been playing God Of War II and since it's the only game I've played in about 6 months that should be an indictaion of how good it is. Aside from the Onimusha games I don't think I've played anything with such a quality cinematic feel to it. Unlike the vast majority games out there you really start to see Kratos as a fully realised character who fits in perfectly with the mythological stories the game is built around. From battling the Collosus Of Rhodes to speaking with Atlas the titan there are plenty of stunning images throughout making it deal for sticking in the face of your smug mate who managed to get a Playstation 3 without having to sell his children into slavery. As a sign of how good it is the Daily Mail even ran an article on how it was "so violent it has been given an 18 certificate" I have to say I fail to see why an 18 rated game should get anymore fuss than an 18 rated film, I suppose the arguement would that games are intended for "children" but that's just ignorant and insulting in my opinion.

Outings

So I've been to a few places in the last few weeks one of which was the new Rio's in Leeds to see the mighty Zyklon destroy the place and they did just that with quality versions of "Disintegrate","Ways Of The World" & "In Hindsight" to name a few. Support band Blood Tsunami were pretty damn good too, I have to say I think Rio's is easily the best live venue in Leeds now the top floor on it's own is bigger than all three rooms at The Cockpit and you don't get all the horrid echoing "riff soup" which is one of the things that's always bugged me about The Cockpit, so you can actually hear the music! There's plenty of room for people to go mental in the pit or just stand at the bar taking in the vibes. I went on my own which was good 'cause it didn't result in me missing half the gig like the last time I went out but bad 'cause you quickly realise you have no one to talk to inbetween bands, I'm a bit dubious about talking to people at gigs especially girls 'cause knowing my luck their boyfriend who just happens to be 7 foot tall shaven headed and have the words "I Am Pain!" inked across his knuckles would turn up and give me this look like he wants to pick me up and snap me like a rotten twig for talking to his girl. I was planning on going to see Akercocke even though I'm not really a fan just for the night out really but I had to work which sucked. Now I'm trying to get people to go to see The Misfits in September but I'm not having much luck really. frown

The other place I went to was the Wetherby Whaler which is a fish'n'chip restaurant if such a thing can exist for my mum's birthday it's a nice place and the food is really good and relatively cheap too but it does have this kind of old dears tea room feeling about the place which was only strengthened by the fact I was the only person in the place under 50 aside from the staff!.

Pretty Pictures
