Neighbours?
So I was just wondering do people actually know the other people that live on their street. The thing that made me ask is I realised today that I've lived on the same street for something like 15 years now and I couldn't tell you the names of hardly anyone on my street apart from the next door neighbour who I kind of know. Is there such a thing as a close community now? knowing everyone who lives on your street just seems a bit implausible to me. The house next to ours has changed owners 4 times since I've lived here and I can't say that I've really noticed the difference that much aside from the current owner's being a family with 3 kids.
Shock! Horror! The End Is Nigh
A funny thing happened at work the other day which I realise is how most of my little anecdotes start but this was a little different about halfway through a rather boringly average day the police showed up which is not a new thing really with all the thieving scallys that frequent the place next thing I know they're marching one of members of staff out of the door in handcuffs much to shock and surprise of pretty much everyone, turns out he'd been stealing dvd's and selling them to his friends apparently he'd been doing it for months. Just when you think you know someone they turn out be some villainous type a few months back someone else got arrested out of work for physically abusing his 4 year old daughter, it's getting like Foxriver penitentiary 'round here.
