Somebody's Gonna Get Canned
Just thought I'd share a rather amusing work related story apparently yesterday which was my day off one of the freezers on the shopfloor stopped working so all the icecream was put in the main freezer in the warehouse 'til the freezer got fixed only thing was somebody neglected to tell the night shift about the whole broken freezer situation and they just filled the freezer back up with all the stuff that was taken out earlier which has all since melted and is now unfit for sale which came out at a grand total of 800! worth of stuff that's just been thrown in the skip which I thought was quite funny really and just demonstrates the type of communication breakdown that's commonplace where I work.
Another Funny Story
My brother used to work through this shitty agency and ended up working at this call centre where all the people had to deal with was morons who wrang up with complaints or problems about the stuff the company made but since it was a shitty company everything they made fell apart or didn't work properly which meant people were always calling in to bitch and moan about something that had gone wrong. After a day or two of listening to people rant and vent abuse at him because there latest piece of technocrap had fallen apart or stopped working he just snapped and started putting people on hold. If you're on hold on the phone you can only wait so long before you just think fuck it and hang up no matter how pissed you are. That's exactly what happened pretty soon he was putting almost everyone on hold until they just got sick of waiting, somehow someone found out what he was doing and by the end of the week everyone in the place was doing it, nobody in the place was actually speaking to anyone that wrang in other than to tell them they were being put on hold. As a result one of the managers got a load of shit from some other manager and half the staff got fired but my brother was going to quit anyway, just thought I'd share that little story.
