Last night Link downloaded the as yet unreleased version of Return of the Jedi. It's supposed to come out some time next month, but evidentally someone leaked it to the net a little early. Let me just say that Star Wars is a sore subject for me. A topic that once elicited euphoric joy now envokes heart felt rage. Simply put, George Lucas is a fucking moron.
Once again he meddles with the Star Wars universe. It's not uncommon for a movie to have a directors cut...and a Star Wars directors cut would be fine with me. The problem is Lucas is not releasing the original version, and as of now there are 3 directors cuts...each a monstrosity built upon a previous superior version.
Some of the new changes are positive...the rancor scene has finally been cleaned up. Some changes are pointless...they digitally edited out Vaders eyebrows when Luke removes his helmet. Some changes are a fucking retarded abomination...Greedo shoots first (granted this was already in the special edition...but instead of REMOVING THIS HORRIBLE EDIT...Lucas cleaned it up to look more natural..THAT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE).
*sigh* Talking about this makes me angry.
