I am about to do something the Government has utterly failed to accomplish. I'm converting to metric. No longer will I say it's 38 degrees....from now on it's a more global friendly 3 degrees. No longer will I say 3 yards...henceforth it will be almost 3 meters. Volume will be a bit trickier because I have no idea how many cups are in a quart, or quarts in a gallon, or any of their metric equivalents. Miles!! Baaah!! Kilometers baby!
This is an actual conversation I just had. Names have not been changed to protect their identities.
Jay: MIS. This is Jay.
Vic: Hey Jay. It's Vic. I'm having email problems.
Jay: No problem. What's going on?
Vic: I sent two emails but they are still in my outbox. When I pull it up it says "Email Not Sent."
Jay: Ok. Look at the bottom right corner of your InBox. Right above the time...does it say connected?
Vic: No. It says Offline.
Jay: Ok. That's what I thought. Vic....are you online?
Vic: What do you mean?
Jay: Did you connect to the internet before opening Outlook?
Vic: No. Was I supposed to?
Jay: Uhhh.
Vic: I'm really illiterate.
Jay: Are you dyslexic?
Vic: Uhh....with computers.
Jay: No way!! Get out!
Vic: So what do I do to send these emails?
Jay: You get on the internet Vic. Close outlook. Get on the internet. Reopen outlook. Remember that email needs the internet to work. It only looks like magic.
Vic: Thanks man. It worked. Have a good one.

he's super busy with school and needs some time and space to sort things out.
i'm sure he'll return to the land of SG soon... of course he'll need a computer first seeing as how he has moved... *shrug*
